This place is totally gorgeous. It's amazingly cool inside the rotunda. They did a great job renovating the building.
It's also way expensive.
I stopped by to get some stuff to make dinner - sweet potatoes (they were out of regular sweet potatoes priced high at $1.60 a pound vs Dave's $.99, leaving the option of a more expensive variety for $2.60/lb) and dried garbanzo beans (they had 6 or 7 types of dry beans, but no garbanzos).
The selection for all kinds of fancy junk is bewildering, but I'd like a grocery store down town to also have stuff available at something less than 160% of the less fancy local chain (Dave's) and 200% above the Asian grocery stores.
I hope those of us making 3.5 times the poverty rate or lower (like store employees) could also shop here, at least for some staples.
