  • Let me start this review by saying that I'm the type of person who can spend hours in a pet shop looking at fish in tanks and animals... So when I read the horrible reviews for this place, I giggled a little, I mean, aquariums are my favorite thing in the whole world, and I pride myself on going to as many as possible, I thought I'd hit the jackpot, a not popular, not busy aquarium... Here's how I feel now as I sit here in front of the shark tank. When I first arrived, I had to pay $5 in parking, $2 more than their site lists, but I thought, oh well, just $2, I was delighted to find the parking lot barren, allowing me to park within 5 spots of the door. I noticed that the building was very small, something that from reviews, I had known to expect, but afterall, 10 gallon tanks mezmerize me, so I thought nothing of it. Upon entering the building, I made my way downstairs to the aquarium, and found no one in line, with 3 ticket tellers, so I was a little annoyed when I had to wait and listen to them finish their story about the party they'd gone to the night before. After paying the steep ticket price of $21.95, I took my flimsy receipt, no ticket, no brochure, no map, I took my receipt and went inside. As soon as I got in the door, my heart sank... I was met with tiny tank after tiny tank of sickly looking fish that appeared to come from the local petsmart, nothing exotic, no interesting habitats. At one point, a high school aged boy, I'm guessing picking up on my dissapointment came rushing over and asked me if I'd "seen the one eyed fish yet." I stared at him cluelessly while he excitedly told me how one of their fish had come in missing an eye, I then stood there awkwardly while he darted around trying to locate and point out said fish, after a few minutes we both gave up and I moved on. At the alligator exhibit I was met with another small group of employees, standing in front of the exhibit, totally blocking the view, as I tried to maneuver around them, they made no attempts to move or stop their conversation about how the girl was "incredibly bad at golf and wish she had someone to teach her" with a wink and a nudge, one of the boys quickly offered, I think hearing her get asked out was the absolute peak of my excitement at this time -_- as I moved around the rest of the aquarium, it was a lot of the same, small fish, dingy tanks, cloudy water, and flirting high school aged employees who seemed to have no interest in aquariums, fish, or customer service... I've never walked out of an aquarium disapointed, but today, for the first time ever, I feel so outraged that I'm considering asking for a refund... Please listen to the other reviews before coming here people, not only is this aquarium small, and unimpressive, but the overall attitude of the staff, along with the sickly state of the animals just makes it sad... :(
