| - On the night of January 13, 2018, I made a reservation at the above mentioned Motel 6 because I've stayed at other Motel 6's before and because I knew the motel was pet friendly. In the past when I've stayed at a Motel 6, my expectations for a one night stay were not high. Motel 6 always offered a pleasant employees, a clean room, clean bedding, and heat!
Unfortunately that was not my experience. I made a reservation from my cell phone through the reservations center well before I arrived that day. When I arrived, it was about 7 pm and already dark. The Guest Service Agent put me in a room that was in the back of the motel. Since I am a single woman who was traveling alone with my dog, I wasn't really comfortable staying in the back of the building, especially since the entrance to the rooms were on the outside. So, I asked the GSA if I could change rooms. The GSA told me he was booked for the night and that there was no more rooms. I told him I made a reservation earlier in the day and asked if all those who made reservations were checked in. He found a room for me. If it was just this issue I probably would not be writing this review.
When I got into the room the lighting was dingy, the beds weren't made to the standards I expected from Motel 6, and the room was cold. It appeared that the bedding wasn't changed. There were long hair strands on the bed. All I know is the hair wasn't mine or my dog's.
The heating control was broken. The room never got warm. I ending up bundling up my dog and sleeping on top of the bedspread in my clothes and winter coat. Taking a shower was out of the question. (See picture below.) Even though the picture shows that the switch was off, I did turn it on after I took the picture and the room just never heated up.
I do feel bad that I am writing such a bad review. My past experience with Motel 6 has always been pleasant and positive. I knew if I was on a road trip that included a quick overnight stay in a motel; Motel 6 was always my first choice. Not anymore.
