| - The ecstatic reviews do not over hype this place - it is the best steak sandwich I have ever had.
We didn't even know this place existed until we were walking down the street and saw a line out the door. Out of curiosity, we stepped up like sheep to see what treats could attract such a crowd. A line out the door always leaves me worried, but it moved pretty quickly. All in all, we were in line about 30 minutes before ordering, and it was another 10 before we got the food. It was absolutely worth the wait.
We got 2 chicken empanadas and two steak sandwiches, one with flank steak and one with NY strip. I love that you can choose your steak, and they have 6 or 7 to choose from.
The sandwiches come cooked fresh, on soft fresh bread, with delicious caramelized onions and roasted red peppers. The mix of flavors is phenomenal, and the juices from the steak are literally dripping off the sandwiches and getting soaked up by the bread. They also put a chimmi (don't call it chimmichurri) sauce on it that was real tasty and added to the wonderful complexity. There is a decent amount of seating in back, and despite the line, there was plenty of open space. If you're in town, do not skip it.
