Don't talk to the snake in the garden. They will smile and offer compliments until you tell them you're not going to renew your lease. Then all of a sudden everything is the opposite of what they told you and somehow you've put all kinds of damage on their house. Then they send you a letter telling you why they kept your deposit and want additional monies or will send you to collections in 30 days. Here's the problem with this: there were no receipts and all the fees and charges for "repairs" were nice round numbers. You don't know me, and can do it at your own risk, but I'm telling you to stay away from these criminals. No matter what you did, how much you paid to maintain the house or to upgrade anything and left it there out of the kindness of your heart, it means nothing. I tried to do the right thing and went out of my way to leave the house nice. What do I get? More charges. Potential collection advisory. Oh, when I moved into that house it was absolutely filthy. Then told me it was my responsibility (in writing) to pay to clean their mess. FYI: my father rents out houses, so I'm no novice at this.
