| - We hadn't been here in over a year. Used to come frequently for lunch back when we had time to go out for lunch during the week. We've always thought they had one of Madison's best burgers and fries, and have been really happy with our other selections. So when we were on Monroe St. for some Saturday shopping, we decided to return to an old favorite. Our party had beers and:
1/2 ABLT, 1/2 squash soup
Croque Monsieur
1/2 turkey, 1/2 potato leek soup
Generally a home run! Potatoes were a hair underdone in the potato leek soup, but not a deal breaker. Sandwiches were awesome. Love the bread and portioning of ingredients. They pay attention to proportions, which on a BLT, is a big deal to me. Tomato was thin sliced, bacon was meaty and avocado was the right thickness. Bread was toasted just right. Not to hard, not too soft. Soup had good detail, with the garnish.
Service was great and atmosphere was good as ever with the expanded space. Thanks, Brasserie V for keeping it tasty all these years.
