| - I give 1 star just because I cannot give 0 or negative.
I live in 5623 Phillips Ave.
The management sucks. The room is awful. Very dirty when I moved in. Everything is broken when we moved in. All the sinks was stuck. Fridge not working for several times. Even the oven has been wrong for long time and they just don't come to fix it. The gas has been leaking for several months until they come to fix it. The heating is also terrible. Very hot in the winter, but easily broken when the temperature drops to the lowest in the winter. Last winter, it broke three times in two weeks when the temperature was -20C. All kind of bugs in the summer and extremely hot in the room. At least 10C higher than outside.
They treat us like nothing. The only thing they care is the rent. They raise our rent this year from 825 to 875. I am moving out without any hesitate. They like to shout at people in the phone and hang up while you are speaking. They never help.
If anyone is considering their apartment, please please please take all the above into consideration.
Update April 1st, 2016
I received an email this morning from Yelp informing me that my review got a reply from Meyers, which made me decide to write some updates.
1. Fortunately, I have already moved out. Unfortunately, but without surprise, I never get my deposit refunded. Neither have I received any information telling me why. I have tried to call them several times after I moved out for deposit refund. At first, they give me another phone number. I called during office hours on different days for several times. Nobody has ever answered. So I called Meyers again. Interestingly, they answered my call at first, but after they found out I was calling for deposit refund, they stopped to answer my calls. I called with a different number, they answered and hung up immediately after they heard my voice. I finally gave up for I have already moved to the west coast and flying back to Pitts is too much for me.
2. For the maintenance, I was accused of not contacting them to report the issue. How ridiculous! I was the one suffered from the coldness of -20C on winter nights. Who, in this situation, won't make the phone call immediately! I understand that the weather was really bad and I had to be patient. I asked them to fix this ASAP. And a ASAP in their definition was three days.
3. Last but not least, it's true that this is my only review. I'm more than happy to admit that I have never used Yelp before and I signed up just for writing this review. I have my right to write down my experience and express my feelings. I also feel offended to see my name in quotation marks. The rudeness is right in their comment.
No more updates in the future.
