| - So I yelped what was around in the North Scottsdale/Shea area and decided to listen to my fellow yelpers and headed over to the VSC for a sannich.
The only thing that I know about Vermont is that maple syrup, rainbow flags and deer meat is responsible for 95% of the state's GDP. Besides that, I wasn't aware that their sandwiches were going to be as amazing as they were. This place thrives on selling freshness. They don't own a freezer, everything is made from scratch and cut in the morning.
I had the Long Trail (~$8) which was roast beef coupled on sourdough with peppered horseradish mayo, muenster cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, green pepper and dill pickles. The roast beef was super tender and the horseradish mayo wasn't overwhelming at all (which I was initially worried about). Each bite tastes like a fresh cloud. The roast beef is packed into this sandwich, the amount of roast beef in a half of sandwich is probably equivalent to a full sandwich at other places. You will leave feeling satisfied. My side was pasta salad, and I didn't especially care for it, nothing too special - wish I had gotten the coleslaw instead.
The to go order took about 5 minutes to put together, the service was nice, the restaurant was clean, the guy that worked there reminded me of Ben or Jerry and now I am going to assume everyone from Vermont is jolly and plump. This place is a little pricey, but 5 stars is what this place deserves!
