| - In my quest to stay at every Marriott in the country (not really), I stopped by the Scottsdale Suites Old Town. Of course, since I'm an avid Yelper, I also took a few pictures for you to check out.
So, this isn't your typical Marriott room - it's not exactly a full on "suite," but it definitely gets the job done. My room had a small living area with a couch, desk, and wetbar - and no, that isn't a huge closet... it's a hideaway bed! Off to the side of that was the bedroom (two closing french doors separating that from the living area), and it had a flatscreen TV in addition to the one in the living area. From the bedroom was the sink, tub, shower stall, and toilet. Everything was nice and up to Marriott's standards.
I'm not really sure what was going on near my room - maybe I was next to service? - but there was a lot of banging early in the evening. Of course, that also could have been just a loud guest. Who knows. But, the front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and the hotel is in a good location - plenty of shopping and dining within easy walking distance, and the free Scottsdale trolley picks up right out front.
