  • I invited some friends here for Sunday brunch as I was in the mood for a "Full Irish Breakfast" and had never been to the Ceili Cottage. We were all hungry and ordered quickly. For some reason, our three breakfasts (all exactly the same dish) took 25-30 minutes to arrive which seems far too long for a simple breakfast that you could cook at home in 10 minutes flat. When it did arrive, the food was average at best. The mushrooms were overcooked, the beans tasted like they had been sitting in a pot for quite some time and the sausages really didn't taste that good at all. The bacon had shrivelled up and the whole dish just tasted a bit bland and stale, like we were eating leftovers from the breakfast rush. We also found the service a bit lacking and the waiter a bit arrogant for want of a better word. Maybe we caught them on an 'off' day but I doubt we will be back any time soon to give the place another try.
