The Miracle Mile Shops have a great variety of stores of different types and prices (although price-wise, you won't have difficulty remembering that you're still in Las Vegas). I don't know if it's actually a mile long, but the mall entertainingly winds for a long distance, interspersed with theaters, restaurants, and a couple water features (one which provides a regularly scheduled "rainstorm"). The dim lighting, shopfronts (two-story shop-homes of Middle East design), and ceiling (cloudy sky) -- all left over from when this was the Bazaar of the Aladdin Hotel -- add character. All the stores I stopped in had friendly, patient staff.
