  • Here's another example of why this airline will fail in the future. Here we are at the airport headed out for a nice vacation. We check in and the bag is 53 lbs, 3 lbs overweight. They say if I am Gold they will waive the fee. Unfortunately, I'm only Silver. Manager is called over and states the same thing as the other employee, they won't waive the fee. OK, so I tell her I have over a half million miles with United, doesn't matter, won't waive the fee. So, there we are holding up all the people behind us so we can remove 3 lbs of stuff because I am only Silver and not Gold status. Thanks United for not only getting my once a year vacation off to a stressful and unpleasant start, but also for convincing me to avoid United Airlines at all costs going forward. Your non-thinking employers just cost you my business.
