| - I had a torn tendon in my ankle which caused me to have a tendon deficiency and my arch to drop which created a huge problem to where I could barely walk. I was in so much pain. After several office visits, x-rays, and a MRI the doctor said the tendon needed to be removed and he would have to transfer my tendon from another area to my ankle to help support my foot or I would have to wear a boot and brace forever so I opted for the surgery. I had problems with the office setting me up for appointments prior to my surgery and after my surgery. The office doesn't call ahead of time to confirm appointments so me being the person that I am put all my appointments into my planner and on the calendar in my phone and set reminders, I took off of work early went all the way to Pittsburgh for my appointment prior to surgery which mind you is a 43 minute drive for them to tell me the doctor isn't in. They claimed that they didn't have me on the schedule for that day, however their scheduling did schedule me for that date because as soon as I got off the phone I put it in my calendar. They did it to me again after my surgery I had to go back two weeks after my surgery to have my stitches removed, I had my appointment set 3 weeks prior and luckily I called. My appointment was for a Wednesday I called the Friday prior and left a message to confirm my appointment and the office called me back and said the doctor won't be in that day 4 days prior to my appointment and I would have never known unless I called the office, because they don't call you to confirm any appointments. I thought this was very inconvenient and inconsiderate especially when I'm none weight barring and have a walker and they tell you to take pain medicine before you come to get your stitches out prior to your appointment so I couldn't drive. The person taking me had already requested time off of work for the day I was scheduled, but then she had to rearrange her time at the last minute. Also I experienced problems the day of surgery the doctor never told me that their were certain things that he would be doing in surgery that he had added on or changed until the day of surgery, he also told me I would be a outpatient and then kept me as a inpatient, he didn't come back after surgery and let me know I would be admitted or to see how I was in recovery, he also met with my mother after surgery and never told her I was admitted she thought she was taking me home. It has been hard to get paperwork filled out and sent to my employer along with that the doctors won't fill out FMLA or STD forms in office it has to go to another department it's $15 per form and you have to fill out a UPMC authorization every time you come in, it's also $1.50 per page for your medical records whether it's for yourself, your job, etc. At my most recent appointments I had my cast removed and he put me back in a boot and said start out 25% weight barring and therapy for 6 weeks, I came back home I could barely walk with crutches or a walker and my foot and ankle is swelled up like a balloon. I have not had the best experience with this group or office, I wish things would have ran smoother.
They are now known as Tri-Rivers Musculoskeletal Centers.
