A great place to escape the festivities in AZ! I fell in love with the Hole in the Rock.
Let me begin this review by saying that if you are photogenic, be prepared to snap away! This place is perfect for photos, need I say more? During summer 2016 in Arizona, on my way to the Botanical Garden, I came across this lovely unique place. This place is an easy hike and is very peaceful. I rate myself a "beginner" when it comes to hiking, and I completed this with no problems.
FYI: Bring plenty of water as it gets hot and humid in Arizona, especially during the summer time!
parked at the Arizona Zoo and walked to the location. Parking is not bad and is quite easy to find. My favorite part was climbing that big ol' rock, looking through that hole and experiencing the scenery! OMG, the views are gorgeous! It offers some great views of Phoenix.
Since this is in a State Park type of area, there are plenty of things for young kids to do as well as a picnic table and benches if you wanted to bring some lunch.
If you are coming just to be up-close and personal with the Rock, then you can easily spend 20 minutes here. Not too much to see, but is a Must-Do when in Arizona!
