| - Let me start off this review with the disclaimer: I have not actually been inside Nestor.
I have not actually been inside BECAUSE Nestor decided to CANCEL an engagement party reservation WITHOUT NOTICE. Hence the 1 out of 5 stars rating.
The Essentials:
- The bride and the groom, my friends, called up Nestor to see if they'd be able to host an engagement celebration. Nestor confirmed yes.
- The bride and the groom visited Nestor in person 1 week in advance of said celebrations to check out the space. They even left their mobile numbers should Nestor need to contact them.
- Night of the celebration, the bride and the groom and twenty-or-so guests show up with party flavours and gifts at 8pm, only to find that Nestor is not open.
Conclusion: Pretty rude of management to close and keep twenty-something people waiting outside on a cold, Montreal night, ESPECIALLY after they had confirmed.
Even if Nestor's got great drinks on tap, great ambiance, or great whatever bar characteristic you could want, I'm sure I'll be able to find somewhere comparable in the city with those same characteristics. What really matters is service, and to this end, Nestor fails miserably.
I'm willing to change my rating if Nestor can get in touch with the happy couple and give a solid explanation of why they cancelled for no reason (because haw haw, again, Nestor has their number).
