I expected more out of an Embassy suites hotel. First it took 20 minutes to get checked in at 10pm on a Wed night. Not because they were busy, because the guy working the desk took forever to ring up two kids buying sodas and answering their mom's questions about the time they serve breakfast.
I have no idea what the guy was doing to be so slow...he rang up the first kids soda, then went and talked to a couple of employees about complaints on the Wi-Fi...finally came back and rang up the other kids soda...then mom asked questions for five minutes about breakfast.
Honestly, is it that different at any hotel? I stay at hotels for work on average about three days a week. Other than "where" they serve it, it's generally served from about 6am to 930-10am. Just show up between 7am and 9am and get your free scrambled eggs...easy peasy!
Our room was on the far end of the hotel and the guy didn't bother telling me there were entrances back there, so I had parked and brought the luggage thru the front. I did take advantage the next day of parking on the side and having a shorter walk to my room.
The two main reasons for the low stars are that the internet was never up or was just horrible, one notch/bar or constantly dropping both days we were here. I need the internet for work and my master's degree classes. Ended up using a ton of data from my cell phone as a hot spot.
The second annoying thing was that it always took a solid five or more minutes of running the shower before the water would warm up. Big waste of water and it should never take that long in a hotel. We would turn on the shower and sink and it still took five+ minutes before you could get in.
I am Hilton diamond member but it doesn't seem to actually mean anything. I've only gotten one room upgrade ever and there aren't really any other perks besides premium Wi-Fi worth anything imo. After this stay I'm going to check out SPG and Marriott more often.
