| - During the gym tour it was hard to keep a straight face when the employee told me in the same breath they it's a no judgement** zone and then say it's a 'no intimidation zone.' On one hand I find the 'Lunk Alarm' ridiculous and hypocritical to their 'no judgement' mantra, but on the other hand most gyms have courtesy based rules they don't bother to enforce, so maybe working an extreme angle like that pays off. It was very nice on my first day there I wasn't re-racking someone else's dumbbells.
They have the standard selection of machines you can find in any gym, but lack in the free weight section. They don't offer dumbbells above 60lbs, while that is not a problem for me, if you are naturally built like a lumberjack and want to use free-weights then you will probably hit the wall sooner than later.
Their membership fees are very competitive and I went ahead and signed up on the base membership with the pay-in-full discount @ $99, which is a great value. Considering the gym I just left spiked their fees by 200% while having constantly broken equipment, it was foolish not take up such a great deal.
Don't take the 3/5 rating as a negative, as it's aptly describes the gym, A-OK. It's got stuff that i want to use at a competitive price, overall it's very clean, and the equipment works. That's all I want and that's all I was looking for.
**'Contrary to someone else's review: 'Judgement' and 'Judgment' are both acceptable spellings.
