| - I never really had a good experience while going here. On the plus side, they have lots of dentists and can fit people in quickly if they need to. On the down side, they have a HUGE turnover among their staff. I don't think I ever saw the same dentist more than once. Their technology was a bit behind the times, and their facilities were not in the best shape.
However, my biggest complaint is that the work that I had done at this place seems to be below-par. I've had several dental procedures over the years including six root canals. Some of the procedures were done by a dentist I was seeing before I went to Southwest Dental, and some of the procedures were done by Southwest. I had two root canals done by Southwest's affiliated endodontist (who was actually pretty good). Those procedures went fine, and healed nicely. However, many weeks later when I went to see the Southwest dentist to get the teeth prepped for a crown, both times the dentist seems to have perforated the roots during the buildup, meaning the teeth are no longer viable, and I have to have both of them pulled out. In addition, I've had to have two of the fillings they created replaced.
It seems that a lot of the reason that people go here is because they don't have insurance, and Southwest has a discount plan. However dental discount plans are very common. Look online and you will find several discount plans that don't tie you to Southwest dental.
The second I got dental insurance, I left this place and found a highly-recommended dentist who I like. (See my other reviews.) If you have insurance, I recommend seeking treatment elsewhere.
