I only go to Harris Teeter for specific items I cannot get elsewhere. They are overpriced for everyday items and the only way to shop comparably to other competitors is be into extreme couponing. Another thing I have noticed is they will raise their prices during the BOGO sales. Not really BOGO the prices per item is higher than it is during non BOGO times.
I do have to say that in the last several months I have stopped coming to this location all together. It seems like the two or three things I come in for, they are out of and I end up having to go to another Harris Teeter to get the item I want.
A great example was I decided to get fried and grilled chicken from their deli one night. It was 5:30, a prime time for dinner, and they had no chicken. I asked the deli counter person when they would have more chicken ready (thinking given the time it should not be more than 15 minutes), and he said not for another hour and half. You would think they would want cooked chicken ready at time were people are looking for it to get for dinner. I ended up having to go to another location to get the chicken.
