Did you know northeast Ohio is the Christmas Mecca?? I didn't either but after visiting Castle Noel today we really should firmly market ourselves as a Christmas tourist destination!
We had only driven past last spring, and decided to stop on a whim while in town today for trains and donuts. So I definitely did not realize it was a guided tour of a museum and a major workout - between carrying our kids, stairs, and standing/walking for about two hours. So no, it's not especially friendly for young kids but my 1.5 and 3.5 yo's were fine once we got past the initial line and movie. Thank you to Mr. Klaus for his quick thinking and providing a lollipop during that introductory show.
From there on it was smooth sailing; the kids found something to be entertained by in almost every room - either the guides or the displays.
Of course we were enamored by all of the nostalgia and the beautiful artwork.
I was most struck by the obvious love this man has for Christmas and art. He did something I would have dreamed about doing as a child. His determination to follow his heart is allowing him to serve others in such a fun way. I truly sense that the profits are allowing him to serve and not the other way around. It was actually really beautiful to witness this in such a tangible way.
Use the time in line to practice being and you'll be just fine, but maybe bring something for the kids and wear comfortable shoes!
Oh, and take your old butt down the slide. It's fun!
