| - The worst experience in my life. Really this facility look on patients the symbol $$. This is my horrible experience. I had a colonoscopy scheduled for June 5,2018. On May 23 I received instructions of diet, hospital, and in general what to do. Again this is May 23. Part of the instructions are the strict clear liquid diet that is not that easy but health is a must. In one of my visits I was told that they could offer a payment plan, but after I receive the statement. On June 4, in the morning; one the day before the colonoscopy I received a phone call from someone who told me that in order to have the colonoscopy I needed to pay at least 50% of the balance. Balance is around $ 1,740.00. I explained to that person that I couldn't afford that much, that I have been 2 months not working and that I am broke; that I just can afford a partial payment for $ 100.00 only. I know is not a lot but I am not refusing to pay. I just need couple more days. She told me that she was going to talk to her supervisor and she would call me back in 30 minuets. At that time I felt under big stress and with some asthma problem, I just jumped to my nebulizer machine for a treatment. I tried to get help from friends but unfortunately no success. I just had $ 50.00 dls more,. She didn't call me back in 30 minuets. SHE CALLED ME BACK 3 HOURS LATER WITH THE WORLD WIDE EXCUSE OF " MY SUPERVISOR WAS IN A MEETING THAT I COULD NOT INTERRUPT ". She told me that in order to have the colonoscopy done I NEEDED TO PAY 100 % of the balance. I explained more in details my situation stating that I was expecting some money from the Suplenental Insurance and some help from work but it would take some more days and that I don't refuse to pay. She was rude at that moment I and confirmed: No pay no colonoscopy. I made some calls and I was advice to go to the facility, explain in person my situation and say that at that moment I could afford $ 150.00, also I was advised to ask for a letter that indicated the reasons why they refused the service. After several minutes a girl; with no friendly attitude called me and the same, no pay, no colonoscopy. I wanted to know why they didn't tell me about the payment on May 23, the day that I received all the instructions. I mentioned that If they inform me about since then I could work and try to get some cash. I mentioned that it was not fair that in the morning they were asking for 50 % of the balance and 3 hours later they want 100 %. O mentioned about the payment plan they offered and she said that it was just for the colonoscopy and the next surgery. I said that nobody told me that and that I feel they are playing games with my health, nothing is clear and they give different answers in jus 3 hours since the first call. I explained again about the money I am waiting and that is not fair to keep me on the liquid diet and they call me just one day before. She was rude and she said that this colonoscopy is not an emergency that I could wait until I get the money. I said, well, if I don't have the money soon I will be off work for more time and I will pay when I can. I asked again for a letter and she refused to do it because nobody was there to do it and that the letters are not given the same day. That if I have an attorney, then the attorney needs to request my statement and medical records. I just need a letter that day why you refused to do the colonoscopy. I live alone and part of the instructions were to have a relative or friend for transportation. I needed to talk to someone; this person needed to change her regular schedule in order to help me and it was not fair that the day before I informed her about the cancellation. It is so sad how the Medical Industry has became in a business where money $$$$ is more important than a human being. I never refused to pay and now I am suffering the consequences of all that miscommunication from their side, the rudeness attitude and really what concept of to be in the medical field means to them. Shame on them. Hope nobody experience something like this, is frustrating but we live in a karma world.
