| - TLDR: Please, don't even think about it. Go somewhere else. It's not cheap, it's not pleasant, HE WON'T FIX YOUR MACHINE, and he'll ruin your day.
I made the mistake of reading only Google reviews prior to taking my sewing machine for repair here (for some reason, those are mostly good). Mr. Vac and Sew (Larry) exceeds at making this the worst experience you've ever had for sewing machine repair. You will walk in feeling optimistic and walk out feeling worthless, stupid and angry. He treats people worse than I thought someone in a service profession could get away with. But get away with it, he did (and does)! I was so taken aback by his behavior that I was scared I'd get too upset if I tried to just go back in and take my sewing machine back, so I had him go ahead and do the repair (terrible idea). He said he'd call when it was done; he didn't. Don't even think about asking him to look up the status of your repair without your ticket number and don't expect to call without being greeted rudely and having to wait several minutes. He finally did finish tuning mine up after two weeks (I found out after calling a few times), and I paid $109 for that tune-up. That doesn't strike me as really reasonable, but I wouldn't dare question it. Even if the thing breaks within a year (warranty period), I won't go back. **UPDATE** Sewing machine was not fixed; still has same problem (tension). I think all he did was put this giant non-removable MR VAC AND SEW sticker on the thing. I'm fuming, but I don't know if I can keep my cool long enough to go back and demand that he fix it again because I know he'll deny that it's broken. (This is clearly how this man makes money.)
As a fun bonus, someone was there looking at vacuums when I picked mine up, and was abruptly instructed NOT to try out said vacuum because then he'd "have to sell used vacuums." (?) This is just hilarious to me, so I thought you, dear reader, might also enjoy it.
