| - This was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was a truly pleasant surprise. It was less like a hotel, and less like what I expected from a no-frills hostel, and more like staying at a funky, modern commune. It's even committed to green principles!
Yes, it was stairs instead of a mirrored elevator, and it was a shared dorm room instead of a private suite, but it was also lockers with chargers built in so you could charge your stuff without worrying about it, board games to play with new friends, and a rooftop bar where you could bring your own alcohol and hang out enjoying the view. Staff are all very friendly and happy to chat with you if they're not busy. I had a million questions. Then we went upstairs to enjoy that bar, which was great.
That led to something of a slow morning the next day. Imagine how thrilled we were to see a help-yourself style breakfast was available till 1in the afternoon! Life saver!
It was much more stylish and modern than I was expecting, service and facilities were great, and I'll happily stay there again when I'm back in Toronto.
