| - I have used this company for years, definitely top notch, I bought a new Trane AC unit from them 2 years ago, had it checked out last year and 2 weeks ago it just stopped blowing air. I called and before they offered to send someone out they wanted to sell me a TLC program. I said my unit has a 5 and 10 year warranty, let's find out what is wrong first.
The guy showed up, he was friendly, but also wanted to sell me the TLC program. I asked what was wrong with my unit, he said bad wiring and a bad capacitor, that was not covered under warranty, but if I bought the TLC program I would save a lot of money. I am like bro, all the wiring was replaced by you guys 2 years ago, and now the run capacitor is bad and it is the only one not covered under warranty? He said yes. 300 bucks later, on a 2 year old unit I said I wanted the capacitor, he said it was bad because it was made in Mexico. I asked him why Trane says made in the USA and the parts are made in Mexico? He said he replaced it with a USA made one. As soon as he left I tested the capacitor and it tested good!
I called Isley's about it, the service manager said he would cover the part under warranty, but he had to have it back & he would refund 85 bucks. I told him I was charged 115 bucks to tell me the wiring they replaced was bad, and 126 dollars to replace a capacitor that was good and a 59 dollar trip charge to tell me all of this, but you'll refund me 85 bucks for a good capacitor? He said yes, but he couldn't do anything else until I delivered the capacitor to them.
Real disappointed with these guys this time, and I will be calling back to speak to the owner, this is totally unacceptable. I wonder why they want that capacitor so bad, their guy said it was bad, but if it isn't covered under warranty, why do you want it back? Are they pulling them out of new units to put weaker ones in to insure ppl sign up for TLC programs? Something is fishy... Personally I like the place, but I will be calling someone else next time, and I'd advise you to be skeptical.
