  • Worst Car Rental Experience I've ever had. So bad I emailed complaints to Hertz Corporate. My advice to anyone that rents a car from this location: 1: Expect a surly and / or a I don't care attitude from staff. 2: Come armed to the teeth with paperwork. If you've got a reservation, ID numbers, don't assume they are capable of pulling it up. Treat them like you're working with Kindergarten kids and have everything ready in advance and be prepared to explain and reexplain things so they understand what you want. 3: Got a camera on your phone? Use it. Take a full set of pix of every part of the car. Take pix of the interior. Take pix of the odometer and gas gauge. Snap pix of the underside and the roof. Seriously. Make sure you do this because when you return the car if it had pre-existing damage or scratches, even if they marked those issues on their checkout sheet, they will try to stick the damages on you. I shot pix and 4K video of the rental and my documentation with timestamps on everything before I left the parking lot and before I turned it in. Those pix and video saved me from bogus charges. My "cleaned" Jeep Grand Cherokee rental smelled like someone had drove to Colorado in it and smoked a bunch of legal recreational weed while hauling a pack of wet dogs around in the back. There were weird white stains on the back seat...they looked biological in origin and I will leave it at that. In short, the rental was disgusting. When my 5 year old climbs into the back and recoiled in disgust, it's bad. Between the attitude and incompetence of the staff, and the downright nasty interior of the rental itself, I hope I never have the misfortune of having to rent from Hertz again. Oh and they didn't even put the right grade of gas in it so the Jeep barely had enough power to get on I-215 and merge with traffic. Once I put premium in it as the manufacturer calls for at least I could get on the freeway without asking my guardian angel for some help in doing so. 1 Mercy Star, and only because Yelp says I have to give them at least one. And my wife says my review is actually not harsh enough as I'm glossing over the other related issues we had with the rental. Again: Worst car rental experience I've ever had, hands down.
