| - For our weekend in Las Vegas, I booked a room here at the Silverton. Mostly on co-workers recommendations, but also because of the price, free parking and free Wi-Fi. It's just off Hwy 15 & Blue Diamond Rd, about 5 miles from the strip.
It's connected directly to the Bass Pro Shops store and if you've never been in one, it's well worth walking through it, because it's an attraction all its own!
SERVICE: Checking in / out was straight forward and easy, as I had booked via hotels.com prior. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They asked if I wanted to sign up for their players card, which aside from the gambling perks (don't care), you get discounts at the buffet and the other restaurants(?) I believe. When checking out, they removed the BS $20 resort fee for one day because the fire alarm went off for 6 minutes @ 12:45 am one night. Fortunately, it turned out to be nothing serious.
ROOM: Comfortable and looked up to date. It was a little dark due to color choices, but I thought the décor was quite nice. There were a number of lamps around the room and overall. WiFi was easy to log into and worked well.

The bathroom was average size, clean and was equally as nice as the room. I enjoyed the nod to Bass Pro Shops on the wall above the towel rack.

OVERALL: Our room was nice, but quite a hike from the elevators, then a similar distance again out to the car in the self-parking lot, but I suppose exercise is a good thing, right? We enjoyed our stay at the Silverton and would consider staying here again.
