  • Just left The Nail Room. I walk in, pleased because it's newly remodeled, clean, hip, cute and comfortable. Greeted nicely by the owner at the front desk and sat very quickly. I am thinking, great! I am handed a price list. $25 for a very basic pedi, no extras, nothing at all. Okay, fine, this seems like a nice spot, I am going to enjoy myself. Nope. No, not at all. No, no, no, no. The manicurist doesn't greet me with water, magazine, nada. Doesn't bother to explain how the chair worked (which was nice, but some of the settings really hurt). Okay, good thing I brought in my own bottle water in my purse (she didn't know I had one) and I had headphones to listen to my music and I pushed a bunch of buttons until something felt good on he chair. I decide to sit back, close my eyes and relax, but no, no, no, nope. The manicurist chats it up about all kinds of annoying things with the employees next to her. She wasn't paying attention to my feet at all, so a few times she hurt me. So.....want a callus scrub? Okay but that will cost you $8 extra. Okay, fine, I always get one. What a joke! It tickled the whole time because she scrubbed so lightly. She kept missing and rubbing the scrubber over delicate parts of my foot. She was holding up my leg, but really couldn't, so my leg started to cramp as in holding it up for her, rather than just elevating it. I mean, who tries to hold up a leg and scrub it at the same time? Okay, so this sucks. I can't relax, she won't hush it and now its costing me a fortune for 30 minutes (yes the whole pedi lasted 30 minutes) of crap. Finally, it is almost over and my disappointment has really set in. But she isn't done yet. She went to rinse off my feet, burning them with scolding hot water. Then rinsed them with ice cold water. Bottom line........the price is fine, but not for the service. If I am paying spa prices, I expect at least a small bottled water, and a decent scrub without hearing all your negative gossip while your store blasts Lil Wayne music so loud my headphones can't drown it out. The store was classy, but the service definitely was not. I believe most of the good reviews are from friends of the new owners or I just got the worst manicurist they had. Pros---The decor is really hip and cute. The polish was done very nicely and lasted a long time.
