| - A couple months ago, this would have easily been 5 stars, oh how Father Time changes all.
I've been a strong proponent of the Market since I started visiting over a year ago...the food was great, filling, and I was always enticed to make other purchases at the market upon leaving. The perceived success of the establishment is warming, as I want nothing more than successful small businesses thriving in this city and becoming hotspots for those within and outside of the aforementioned limits.
With that said, my opinion of the Market has drastically changed within the past few visits. An eatery can have a bad day, a bad plate, thus it was important to not dismiss my favorite brunch place immediately...sadly the same occurrences have happened, and at this time, are beginning to appear as a trend.
We are always greeted right away, but upon seating, it has taken between 12-15 minutes for us to be acknowledged, let alone a drink provided. The inconsistency and the rate at which the waitstaff addresses tables varies in a pattern that I cannot quite predict. Some wait as we do, others address with minutes of sitting down. I appreciate the casual approach, but there is a fine line between nonchalant and negligence. Today's experience was most troubling, as we were not provided a carafe of water and was not provided a refill throughout the entire meal, along with an empty coffee mug.
While the quality of ingredients I'm sure are the same, this has not transpired to the plate. Fried eggs are received over-easy, scrambled eggs that are rubbery, and bacon and grilled bread that are cold.
I truly hope this place can turn it around.
