  • Dinner at Rao's last night was amazing. The crazy thing is that I saw the owner, Frank Pellegrino Jr, standing by the wall sipping on some coffee and I walked over and struck up a conversation with him. I told him I'd seen him on tv a few times. Frankie is a total class act. Extremely approachable and grateful. He thanked me for coming over to talk to him and asked where our party was sitting. He then added, 'I'd like to buy you all a round.' He bought us a bottle of wine! Aside from that really cool experience, we asked Mike, our bartender (really good guy) what he recommended. "Without a doubt, you have to have our meatballs, our fried mozzarella and the clams." We ordered one of each and they were really, really good. We wanted to try a main course and split it and Mike recommended his favorite. He asked us to order the veal parmesan and it really was a wonderful plate. The size was big enough to feed two if you order an appetizer, say the meatballs to go with it. The ambience is very cool. It's low lit, I saw a bocce ball court in the back, great music and also the photos of the celebrities on the walls are pretty neat, as well. New York City is pretty far from here and I hear getting a table there can be quite difficult. So, I'm happy we have a Rao's here in Vegas. We'll come back for sure.
