We checked out Henderson Brewery during their Block Party in September and were immediately impressed by their spacious digs. The event was fairly family friendly as they had several bouncy castles and face painting stations set up for the kids.
We grabbed some pints of something hoppy from the tap room ($7 each) and enjoyed them outside in the sun. As it was nearing lunch time, we grabbed some food from the only option which was the Drake food truck - chicken & waffles and beef sandwich - roughly $15-$17 each which is crazy $$$ and pretty steep. Could have done with just basic BBQ hamburgers/hot dogs/sausages.
I also noticed that they had homemade root beer ($3) as a non-alcoholic option. It was extremely foamy (lots of head!), warm and tasted like carbonated Jagermeister. Not a great recipe. I'd stick with the real beer.
On our way out, we picked up a few bottles to go - Henderson's Best ($5.95) and Mango IPA ($6.50).
Fantastic addition to the West end 'hood. I find myself visiting the Beer Store/LCBO less and less with all these breweries popping up!
