| - Last winter, we were looking for a florist for our wedding. My fiancé and I saw this florist's work through the windows of her shop at First Markham Place and really liked her style.
Ready to throw down a few thousand dollars, we walked in to see what she could do for us. There was snow out and it was around closing time. So the owner had already mopped her store. Our boots weren't muddy or anything. I guess they might have been A BIT wet. It would have taken a few seconds of remopping to remedy whatever footprints we would have left behind.
As soon as I took literally one step into her shop, she screamed at us. "GET OUT OF MY SHOP! I JUST MOPPED!" She shooed us out of her store like we were thieves or children.
Needless to say, we did not go with her and are so happy with the florist we chose. Although this happened a while ago, we look back at it and laugh now. Had she been different in her approach, like, "hey, sorry, I'm closing up. What are you looking for? Wedding flowers? Oh. Let's set up an appointment to talk further," we would have given her a chance and maybe even gone with her as our wedding florist. Oh well, you live and learn.
