For those that want to feel like they are back in the 1980s and feel important you need to stay here. Be sure to dress in your finest black outfit with your trendy black travel tote or laptop case. Generic BMW or Mercedes will do as well. Definitely a haven for the business person who doesn't care what they spend on travel.
The good:
Very nice upscale lobby feel. Everything looks new and clean.
Elevators were fast.
Both Concierge were nice.
Beds and pillows were very comfortable.
The restaurant looked very nice but we did not eat there.
Rooms were clean and the bathrooms have heated floors.
The meh:
It's just an old hotel with a new lobby. Rooms were typical 80s including touchstone phones in the bathroom
Small fridge and small coffee pot complete the rooms.
HDTV with limited HD video available
NO free in room Wi-Fi
Not really for kids.
The bad.
Customer service at the front desk seemed indifferent.
Concierge sent us to a restaurant that was closed. ( it was right across the street too!)
Parking was $12/night
The HVAC unit in the room would not shut off no matter the temperature. I had to turn it off so we could get to sleeper to the heat and the noise.
We had a fine stay here but the uppity pretense this place has about itself was funny. You won't go wrong staying here but you will spend more than you want to considering they nickel and dime you for everything. And it's really nothing special.
