My wife and I spent a weekend at the Valley Ho recently so we decided to try the restaurant especially because of all the good reviews here on Yelp. We didn't have reservations but we were directed to a table in the lounge bar which features the same menu which by the way is quite varied from simple sandwiches to gourmet entrees.
Our table was directly across from the lengthy mid century bar so it was perfect for people watching. The crowd was noticeably upscale, well dressed and surprisingly young for what amounts to an "old fashioned" hotel. Perhaps young people admire the fun and hope filled 60's when dressing nicely was expected and cocktails were king.
I had a pastrami sandwich and a beer which was real good. My wife loved their kale salad even though I don't get the attraction or popularity of that green leafy stuff. It appeared to be a nicely prepared salad with loads of salady accoutrements and a tasty dressing.
This is a fun place to go to.
