  • I live in the Leslieville area and have been a HUGE fan of Ed's Real Scoop for years, but am kind of bummed to have just learned that their ice cream is not really "from-scratch." Just like Greg's, Ed's actually uses an ice cream mix that comes right from a dairy, pre-mixed with stabilizers. They put their own flavours into it, but to me, "homemade" and "from scratch" should mean milk, cream, sugar, and eggs, all mixed by hand, not a factory. For anyone looking for REAL homemade ice cream, "Delight" on Queen West makes all of their ice cream with Harmony Organic milk and cream, by hand, from start to finish. And it is incredible!!
