If you aren't smitten by the cacophony of scents that greet you as you open the door, you certainly will be by the warm friendly staff that try to sell you on the cranberry short bread and an extra thirty pounds (gained while testing every goody apparently). While this bakery had the feel of a large Starbucks (they sell Seattle's Best), the wide variety of gluten goodies will have one coming back for more. From skor brownies to pressed paninis, they have just about everything. Including a boisterous baker who waived whiffs of the new baking our way. Beyond that they welcome students to sit for hours on their padded chairs (a true luxury let me tell you.) Offering free wifi and wide open windows that border busy St. Clair. After a late dinner this sweeterie was still open after 1030pm and much later I'm sure. Be sure to bring cash though or you will be forced to use the in-house atm and your pocketbook will cry. Bottom line...bring a friend to share a treat and settle in for a few cozy hours, or your laptop and carafe for some dedicated web surfing.
