  • I've now been to Golden Steer twice. It seems like I'm being treated progressively worse. I live in the condo building next door so I try to support businesses in my neighborhood. I can honestly say I'll never be a patron at Golden Steer again. The first time I came to The restaurant the hostess tried to act like she couldn't seat me despite the restaurant literally being empty. There were literally 3 customers in the restaurant. I brushed it off. The servers were rude to me and practically ignored me and the prime rib was not good at all. I chalked it up to an isolated bad experience. I came back about 6 months later (today) and the hostess tells me there's a 1.5 hour wait. She later gets on the phone and tells another potential customer that they have space if they come now. I sat in the bar high tops area for about 25 minutes. Nobody brought me a menu or even acknowledged me. I literally had to go and find a server and place an order. This time I tried the ribeye. I asked for it medium rare +. They gave me a medium-medium well steak. When asked for another steak the server tried to blame it on the au jus. I eat at steakhouses weekly. Au jus had never made a steak more well done in my experience. As I type this I've been finished with my dinner for about 20 minutes and no one has come to offer me the check. I'm practically invisible. This is very disappointing. None of the other patrons are being treated like this. I'm the only Black patron in the restaurant. I hope this is merely a coincidence.
