I'm giving 2 stars... one for price and one for customer service. I went in around 5pm on a weekday and it wasn't busy. The lady that helped me didn't speak English. While I was trying to be patient and understanding it was really difficult because she didn't understand what I wanted. I did not purchase the yelp coupon but I showed it to her and asked if that means it's 40% off any massage or just a foot massage. She told me I'd pay for the coupon (on yelp) and pay her another 15. Making an hour full body massage $30. After purchasing the yelp coupon, I clarified with her one more time. She kept nodding and saying yes. So SHE clicked the redeem button to mark my coupon as used. She then asked me for another $25. I was confused. Because that would mean I'm paying $40 for a massage that is already $40. She could tell I was getting frustrated and trying to get my money back so she called another lady who could translate. I felt bad because another man's massage was being interrupted so that I could get my situation taken care of. I ended up paying $30 for a full body 60min massage. Awesome deal.
Honestly I don't know why people are complaining about the environment. I thought it was just fine. If I got a foot massage, it really wouldn't bug me being in an open room. It's not like I'm exposed. I was expecting the private rooms to be literally non private curtains. Even though I could still hear lobby noise (maybe it didn't bug me because it wasn't busy) but I was completely fine with the private area.
I felt bad because the lady massaging me was ridiculously nice and sweet but I hated the way she was massaging me. I couldn't relax at all. I usually get massages to feel better from my stressful job and I felt like she was just massaging so weird. She never used her hands either. She was just using her forearms and putting her back into it so that her forearms would be applying pressure to my back. It was weird. Alot of moments it felt like a deep tissue massage. Due to the language barrier I had a hard time communicating what I wanted or what didn't work for me. This was super frustrating. Even more frustrating because I could hear the woman next door asking a customer things like "where are your problem areas? Is there anywhere you'd like to focus on? Is this good? Is this too hard? Just let me know if I need to change anything I'm doing" ... it sucked hearing that because I didn't get that same service.
I can't decide if it's worth going back and just trying another masseuse out or just going somewhere else.
Like I said the customer service was really good and the lady who massaged me was super sweet which made me feel bad. But it's also my money and I felt like I didn't get what I paid for.
