Postrio is one of many Wolfgang Puck restaurants in Vegas. I read somewhere that Puck has single-handedly put Vegas on the map as a culinary destination. Back in the day (before my time), Vegas was home to $1.99 pancake breakfasts with a slice of ham steak and two eggs any style and all-you-can-eat buffets comprised of questionable food stuffs. Now, you will find so many top chefs have taken a gamble (no pun intended) and opened high-caliber restaurants thus further raising the bar for newcomers.
Postrio has two separate dining areas with corresponding menus, the "outdoor" and indoor areas. We chose the outdoor seating because we were accompanied by my darling two year old nephew.
I order a small plate of heirloom melon with prosciutto, figs and a cheese filled cookie/cracker sweetened by honey. It was delicous. All of the flavors blended seamlessly. The only thing that irritated me a bit was the fact that the servers brought my salad/small plate at the same time they served my entree. Personally I prefer my salad as a first course then the entree. But the taste of the item (delish) made up for the weird timing.
My dad and I were still pretty full from lunch so we split the margherita pizza. Since Wolfgang Puck is synonymous with pizza, it was a must try. Very tasty. For dessert we all split this really yummy strawberry cream puff pie. OMG so yummy! Postrio's is a nice place if you want to have a relatively quick, but tasty bite of food.
