  • Up until today, Nadege was one of my go-to bakeries for beautiful/delicious cakes downtown. I used to frequent the location in the PATH but also the location on queen on weekends (like today). I picked up a pecan pie and asked the staff for a piece of chocolate which says "Happy Birthday Mom" to go on top. They had about 4 employees standing at the front chatting at the time and the guy who packaged my pie asked another employee to do the chocolate. I actually waited a while for the chocolate but was happy for when it was given to me (in a bag) and I went on with my day. When the time came for the birthday treat, I opened up the bag to put the chocolate a top this beautiful pie. Unfortunately after opening the bag I discovered that the topper only said "happy birthday" in brown icing.. on a brown background. It looks exactly as you'd imagine. Needless to say, I didn't even bother using it.
