| - The White Water Center (WWC) is an amazing facility that I frequent often for workouts, adventure, music, drinks, and much more. While a bit out of the city, it is definitely worth the drive and I have taken most of my friends and family here over the last 5 years.
Honestly I use the WWC most often as a place to chill and grab a beer (they have a ton on tap). My wife and I have the annual pass ($40) which gives access to parking and the grounds for the whole year. Riverjam is a fun event every thursday and saturday that features a free concert and we ususally do some hiking/walking and grab a beer before enjoying the show. In addition, it's a neat experience to watch the white water go by as the band plays. The facility is also dog friendly, which is a plus for us.
While I do agree that the price to do activities at the WWC can be high, I feel that the all-sport pass (whitewater, ropes courses, climbing, etc) is equal to an all-day outdoor adventure park - for which you would pay similar prices to get into a theme park. Needless to say the WWC is the best deal for those that have their own toys (kayaks, mountain bikes, etc) as everything is well maintained and you only have to pay the price for parking.
I've been impressed with the facility so far and they have added a ton of features in the last 5 years. I'm excited to see what the WWC will do next and definitely enjoy more outings myself.
