| - Came here on Xmas Sunday on the way home to LA. Came here around 1:30pm and there was barely a line. Only fail is that there was only one cashier and she took forever. At a normal buffet on the strip, it should have taken 2 minutes max to process customers. When it was time for me to pay, the cashier asked if I had a players card. I told her no and she said that it would save me $2 off per person and all I would need is 1 card for the entire party. Seeing that there was 5 people in our party, it would have saved me $10. I told her that I didn't want to go get the card as I didn't want to stand in another line. But she insisted that I get the card. So I obliged and picked up the card. Anyways, there was a promo that day that if you play and get 50 points, you get a free buffet. Too bad I didn't have time as the buffet closes at 2:30 I believe.
The Sunday brunch was a Bellini themed brunch which also served Mimosas champagne & beer all for $18 per person with the players card. For those of you looking at the whole pig, that's only on Saturdays during the Polynesian themed dinner.
The decor inside is very nice and looked high end. The food area was clean for the most part, but small. It's your typical buffet and nothing about it will really wow you. Some of the food was pretty tasty but for the most part, it's pretty decent. I really liked the eggs benedict. It was served in what looks like a cupcake paper liner. I thought it was a good idea since you don't end up breaking the egg yolk while trying to pick it up like other buffet places where they just put like 12 eggs benedict next to each other and you have to pick it up the right way without the sauce, yolk or ham falling off. I thought it was one of the better eggs benedict I've had. The sauce has a touch of lemon tartness and the ham wasn't dry. The english muffin wasn't hard as a rock either.
The prime rib was overcooked and on the tough side even though it was on the medium side.
The steamed clams was a bit salty but it was flavorful. I almost forgot, the Posole was probably the best I've had. It had just the right flavor combination. Was not bland like a lot of places I've been to here in LA. There was big chunks of meat and it was tender and not dry at all.
Like most buffets, there were different stations ranging from Chinese to Mexican to American. Overall I would liked this place as it's not crowded and won't burn a hole in your pockets. I would like to try their Polynesian nights but I've heard that it can really get crowded. So come early if you plan on eating here on Saturday.
