I'm not a fan of thinner baguette style banh mi's, but DAKAO in Vegas does these sammies right!
FYI - for my San Jose yelpers, it's not affilated with the Dakao back home!
The bread is crunchy (not to the point where it cuts your mouth like some places) and very soft on the inside. I had the house special (vietnamese cold cuts) and grilled pork sandwich here and both were delicious. The house made mayo sauce here was super flavorful and I liked how the carrots and daikon were thinly shaved.
It's located in the Chinatown district (about 10 minutes off strip) and parking is plentiful! Sandwiches were very friendly on the wallet ($3-$4 each) and were buy 5 get 1 free.
Great service and a definitely a WIN! I wouldn't compare it with some San Jose or OC banh mi's, but for Vegas...5 star banh mi place for sure!
