I needed a couple of copies of keys made and I figured Home Depot would be a good choice to do so. The place is big-filled with rows and rows of home improvement goods. As it started to become overwhelming, I decided to look for help.
I found a worker in the lighting department stocking, so I asked for help in making copies of keys. Even though it wasn't her department, she was able to find someone who would be able to make the keys. I noticed the machine said it was broken, but she said she had another machine that could make the key copies. Had the copies made and told me if it didn't fit to bring it back with the receipt and they would rekey it for free.
I tried the keys out and none of them worked. They went in the keyhole fine, but it didn't actually turn the lock. All of the keys was somehow slightly off. Didn't get to return to this location to get the keys redone, so I went to another location that was able to do so. Was informed by the other Home Depot that the machine that was broken has been broken for weeks and the current machine that did my keys was notorious for making that didn't work.
Overall, I appreciate the effort in customer service, but was not satisfied with the product. If this Home Depot was aware of the track record of having to have the keys redone so much, it would have been informative to let me know. I would of been fine going to another location to have the job done right the first time.
