  • Getting in: PURE does a great job of making it seem like it's damn near impossible. We went on a Saturday night, and got in easily only because our friend had a Diamond Total Rewards card. Gotta warn you though, the entrance is harder to navigate than operating a 747 jet blindfolded with your arms and left leg tied up. People were all sorts of confused about where the lines to get in started. A few girls thought my friend worked there since he was in a full-on suit, and kept approaching him to ask for VIP access. Fellas, that may be one alternative to waiting in line; just wear your nicest black suit and tie, pretend like you know what the hell you're doing, start asking for IDs, and you just might be able to sneak by the bouncers. What you'll find: The place is huge and the décor is amazing--just the right amount of Vegas gaudiness (and I really mean that in a good way), and made me feel justified in the time I spent getting dolled up to go out for the night. The Music: I don't really remember if there were music themes for each room, it all just sounded the same to me in the end. Mostly top 40s, with some hip hop jams and a touch of electronica. I wasn't feelin' the DJ in the main room; he kept cutting songs off at awkward times and just wasn't mixing beats well. Not that I'm a musical genius or anything, but damn give me an ipod and a mic and I probably could have done a better job. Drinks: What you'd expect at any other place in Vegas, you'll have to push your way through the crowd to get to the bartender and don't be surprised by your tab at the end of the night. I'd recommend pre-partying beforehand. Overall: For me, the most important thing is the "pulse" factor. Was PURE the epitome of Vegas partying and debauchery that night? Not so much. It seemed like half of the crowd was having fun and the other half looked bored. It could have just been a slow weekend--the pussycat dolls lounge didn't have dancers that night and the 2nd floor was closed. The place definitely has potential, I guess the night I went wasn't my lucky night =(
