  • This was my first visit to the Speciality Care Center to see Laura Pearson, and not a very pleasant one. I came about 20 minutes before my appointment as asked to fill out paperwork. When I walked in the place was packed (25+) patients, I would say about 95% were expecting as well, and children running around. After I filled out my paperwork, I sat and waited for my name to be called. 30 min AFTER my scheduled appointment I noticed one of the girls at the desk adding a '30 min out' sign to Laura Pearsons name. I went up to ask if that meant I was going to have to wait at least 30 min more (1 hr past my appt time). She shrugged her shoulders and said there are 2 more patients before me. When I asked if I should reschedule since they were running an hour + behind, she just stared at me and said 'I don't know'...there are pregnant women that have more important needs right now.... I decided to give it 15 more minutes since I had been waiting so long already and noticed all the comments indicating that even tho you have a scheduled appt, you WILL wait up to 45+ min to even be seen. While I was waiting, I notice a sign indicating that they do not discriminate based on race and ability to pay.. I chuckled as I felt slighted as a patient b/c I was not expecting... I noticed several women going in to see the doctors that came in 30-40 AFTER me. Going back to me asking if I need to reschedule due to waiting over an hour and being told there were expectant women with 'more important needs', I did feel that I was indeed being discriminated against based on my state of well being. Finally as I was getting up to leave, my name was called. I was whisked away for weight and blood pressure and put in a room and told to disrobe.. I waited about 10 min for the Laura to come in. My entire time with her, breast exam, pap, etc.. was about 8 min.. IN and OUT, I felt like she was rushed and since I 'only needed my yearly exam' I was NOT a priority. I would assume if you have Gynecologists in your title, you might have a doctor that specializes in this area, not just as a side note. Extremely disappointed in the level of service from the extremely long wait time which apparently is 'normal' based on reviews, to customer service to time with the Doctor.
