One star for service. 4 for food. I didn't want to write this review. But I'm finding myself still fuming about it. I went to dinner with my young son a few nights ago. We don't go out to dinner often because I work in the industry at a local restaurant and I work nights. I'm also a single mom who goes to school almost full time. I chose this place because I live near by and I've heard great things about the food.
We arrived around 6:30 and things did not look too busy. Ten or so tables inside and one on the patio. No one was at the host stand and it took several minutes for someone to finally come. I asked for us to be seated on the patio and was told to have a seat and the hostess would follow me with menus. We found a table and after a solid two minutes no one brought menus. I finally got up and got them myself. After that it took over five minutes before the server came to the table. No smile. And very little eye contact. Quickly took our drink order and returned with drinks fairly promptly. The server then took our order without a smile, suggestions, or personality. I asked if they had a kids burger( I'm not complaining that they didn't) and the server said "you want cheese on it?" No yes or no. Just asked about cheese. I don't know if they were in a hurry or what. The food came and it was really delicious. The server came to check on us and said "good stuff guys?" As they were walking away. At the end of meal the server never asked if we wanted dessert and took my payment. Then returned it with a very quick "goodnight". Never took my empty plate and I had to move it to sign my credit card slip. The service was an epic fail from start to finish. NEVER SMILED. I'm pretty easy to please honestly. I will probably be back for the food, but not for awhile. And if that same server is anywhere in sight, I will specifically ask not to be seated in their section. It's unfortunate that the service alone ruined a rare night out for my son and I.
