| - Only reason I lived here was because it was fairly inexpensive, close to light rail to commute to ASU, had a decent pool, and free A/C.
READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING. Read every sentence, they will try and speed through it all so that you don't have the time to read your lease agreement and then you're stuck putting up with their bull sh*t.
Cons:
1. Your water bill is determined by the entire complex's monthly use divided by each unit. This includes the water they use for the pool, sprinklers, etc. The sprinklers break just abour every week so you're paying for the water to fountain out onto the walkways.
2. Cockroaches were a problem dore. I would see one or two every 1-3 months in my apartment.
3. Maintenance will do their job when they are contacted, but if you call the office and ask the front desk people to report a maintenance issue they will never do it. I had a maintenance request that was ignored for 5 months.
4. They don't enforce any parking rules, people park backed in and people will abandon their vehicles for days and weeks without Colter Park doing anything.
5. Printers are slow, usually only one is working at a time. The gym room is a joke, the equipment is old and the room is smaller than most living rooms.
6. The electric gates to the parking lot always break down and are either left open or part way shut. The gates to the street are never closed so there's always very sketchy people walking around the parking lots and complex.
I wasn't going to write a review because I thought I was done with this place, I had a 13 month lease from 2016-2017 and just when I thought I would never have to deal with Colter Park and living well homes I get harassing phone calls 5 times in one day from a collection agency trying to collect the $135 that I paid in April of this year from a cleaning fee after moving out. I call the office and they are so incompetent and unresponsive that they say to email the living well homes collections department. I do so and don't get a response for 2 days and finally they respond saying they screwed up and did indeed have my payment from 3 months earlier.
This place will nickel and dime you on everything. Their office staff and management have zero customer service experience. They are crooks and are rude beyond belief. It was unfortunate that I got stuck living here but I needed a cheap place that was close to downtown and Tempe.
If you do live here, save all your receipts from every cent of money you give them because they will "lose it" and send you to collections. By far the worse leasing company ever.
