  • I wanted to find a new place for some mother's day pedicures that wasn't outrageously expensive like Dolce or Aji spa. I reviewed this place on Yelp and while it had some not so good reviews, most of them were before 2011. So I decided to give it a try. I called and made a reservation for myself and 3 others. I was able to get an appointment, which I was surprised and grateful for since it was the Saturday before mothers' day and I was calling on Friday.I spoke with a nice man who confirmed the 4 appointments. I asked how much it would be for pedicures and he said $23 each. We arrived on Saturday at 10 am and two of our group had already arrived and they were working on their feet. The same man I spoke with on the phone greeted me and asked me to pick out a color. Since I failed to mention the quoted price to the group, the workers asked them which pedicure they would like. They chose the VIP one but didn't realize it was double the cost of what the basic pedicure ($23). I suppose it was my mistake but at the same time, I know they were trying to upsell their services. When they asked me what I wanted, they flashed a price sheet very quickly in front of me. Again, upselling. I was the last of the 4 to get started on my pedicure but I was the first one done. I only got the basic pedicure and then man that was doing my nails seemed rushed and didn't wear gloves. The other 3 people in my party had people who took their time and wore gloves. The first two in our group had the callous removal and art added to their nails as well. The art looked really good on their nails and I was a bit jealous I didn't choose to have some added to my nails as well. The place was clean and didn't have an overpowering of the acetone smell that some nail places do. The grand total came to $146 plus tip ($45 x 2, $23 x 2, plus $10 for callous removal and art). It was a little pricey but since it was mother's day, I didn't want to make a fuss. And, compared to Dolce, it was still reasonable, so I can't complain. I think I would go back again as the front desk person was nice and the place was clean. I didn't like the upselling but will be more cautious next time. I've also heard that there are coupons in the local flyer/envelope that come for this place so I'll keep my eye out for them.
