| - The Wandering Horse Buffet at Talking Stick is quite nice. It's well set up with many large booths and tables. One entire side of the restaurant is all windows offering a bright atmosphere (in an otherwise dark casino) and a nice view of the mountains. For $26.95, you can't go wrong. I tried a fraction of what they offer but what I did have was quite good.
There is a large and quite varied selection of food. Included was an Asian section, Mexican section, Italian section, fresh crab legs, oysters, shrimp and many different options of meat at the carving station. If you are a non red meat eater, there was salmon and chicken. There's quite a nice selection of potatoes; mashed, hash browns and country style. Also included was a salad bar, a selection of soups, fresh vegetables, waffles, pancakes and made to order omelets. The desserts included cakes, mousses, tarts, pies, gelato, crepes as well as other pastry items. My favorite was the jalapeƱo bacon, probably the best bacon I've ever had. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but no matter your palate, you will definitely find something.
As with most casinos, the clientele can be interesting and Talking Stick is no exception. There was a varied group of people which always makes for good people watching. Is the buffet on par with The Phoenician, no. Is it better than most buffets, definitely yes. Would I go back? Yes!
