| - Showing up here in March for dinner was a bit of a surreal experience. Some of us arrived early and went to the bar for a drink before dinner. Christmas decorations were still up - poinsettias and wreaths - what's up with that? When the rest of the group show up, we go to the hostess stand to be seated. I asked if we were going to be seated in one of the back rooms which, according to Yelpers, was very nice. "Of course, sir, we have you seated in one of our very nice replica rooms in the back," was the reply.
We were led back to our table in the back. While every other table in the room was carefully and orderly situated, our table appeared to be slapped down in an awkwardly right in front of the kitchen door. Our table and our group stuck out like a sore thumb. But our view of the dishwashing area of the kitchen was great!
The food is "traditional" Americanized Italian place. Red sauce, pasta, cheese, etc. The meatballs were justifiably worth getting - moist and savory - not the best but pretty dang good. Pastas were ok, meats were ok. Portions were large. Service was uninspired.
Competent? Yes. Memorable? No.
